Trinady Joslin named spring 2021 Managing Editor

Trinady Joslin has been named Managing Editor of The Daily Texan for the spring semester.

Trinady started on The Texan as a general reporter in Life and Arts in Fall 2018 and quickly moved up to a senior reporter position during Spring 2019, writing two stories a week, as well as a long form story on barriers disabled students face when applying for accommodations. She also developed a beat within disability reporting.

She was an Associate Life and Arts Editor in Fall 2019 and head Life and Arts editor in Spring and Summer 2020

In fall of 2020 she served as an Associate Managing Editor, helping create new breaking news guidelines and a guide for the leadership team on how to approach coronavirus related situations.

She is the recipient of the $1,500 Middy Randerson Award from Friends of The Daily Texan, Inc.

As Managing Editor she serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends group.

When receiving her scholarship grant, she indicated she hoped to serve as Managing Editor and would desire to further prioritize long form investigative content, encourage more collaboration between departments and improve upon diversity and inclusion in the newsroom.

Upon graduation, Trinady hopes to work as a health policy reporter with a specific focus on disability. Whether it be a national outlet or local one, she’s passionate about continuing the kind of reporting she learned in the Texan’s newsroom.
